Arl. 5 Aug. '41

Dear folks:

Last night I felt pretty lonesome at the close of work, so I offered to take Erlanson home for the sake of having someone to talk to. He insisted on having me stop to imbibe a Tom Collins, and then they kept me to supper (spaghetti, meat balls, avocado salad, and dessert). I came home directly after and worked on the ms. of the author index, & this morning I have finished marking it for the printer.

I sold your 5 Am. Tel. rights at about $7 (all together). Sign & date the enclosed cert. on the back at the places I have marked, get your mother to witness it, and mail it at once (with the slip for att. of Mr. Morgan) to Laidlaw & Co., Wash., DC.

Only 4 more full days here. I am carting another big lot of ginger ale bottles off today. Have 3 shirts washed but not ironed; will do it tonight.

Love.
