We have been staying quietly at home today. This forenoon I cleaned up clothes, etc., this afternoon we went painting. We painted the Congregational Church with a crowd of little [[Dingoes?]] admiring us behind. One even brought out her blackboard to copy our attempts!

Mrs Barry plans to go off Friday after noon and wants to be gone longer than 2 weeks, and I told her to stay just as long as she wanted to, knowing that you wouldn't mind. She is in fair temper, altho she & Hugo get in a few licks before breakfast usually. He seems to be having a good time and is easy to amuse, as he likes to write letters and take baths and naps. My mother doesn't appear to mind him at all, and is in good spirits—

Love
Doris.
