Dear Sid:

I was glad you escaped most of the rain and got so far. It began raining earlier here and was a bad night but hot and muggy all Sunday,— the paper said 96° in Wash D.C. so I suppose you had a hard day's ride. I hope you are not all tuckered out. Do go to bed early and rest up and eat well and don't work too hard over that cursed Ariz. flora.  We were tired enough without a long trip back. Doris said her legs ached all day. Today she slept 2 hours in the afternoon, and looks better now.

We walked up to the Hotel after dinner and sat painting the old Capin house for an hour while
