This QM would seem to be an "AlCN" which releases mobbing, i.e. an approach to a pot. pred., while MGB probably is an "AlCN" which induces retreat from a pot. pred.

QM notes sound rather like the "Tsit"s of Pinche's, much more so than do the MGB's. This, by itself, would suggest that they may also contain relatively more escape than MGB's. But the fact that they may be combined with forward (Mobbing) movements would suggest just the opposite. Probably, the only causal difference between the 2 patterns is intensity.

SS obviously is produced by a very wide range of hostile motivation. It was performed by individuals uttering: QM during Mobbing. Also by much less excited individuals uttering MGB during later encounters. And even by individuals who remained quite silent.

All individuals had the black tips of their tails slightly fluffed while uttering QM's and MGB's. But I do not think that this is a special, ritualized "TR" pattern. I think that the black tip probably is slightly fluffed at all times. Presumably a "releaser" for a "following response".

The individuals in this group ranged over a great variety of heights above ground. 10-40 (or more) ft up. But they spent much more time in the higher parts of this range than in the lower parts.

When not greatly disturbed, they spent most of their time apparently looking for insects. (See also Marcel).

Sometimes they were quite widely scattered. But I
