ok at us when they uttered these notes.

Some minutes later, when Marcel moved suddenly, one or more of the monkeys uttered brief L Trll's. The form of these Trill's convinced me that I am correct in me interpretation of the Brrrps. They really do seem to be "nothing more" than "low pitched brief L Trll's".

Animals gradually drift off after 10-15 minutes.

NOTE: As far as I could tell, these Saimiri were not accompanied by squirrels.

4:55pm. Came accross another group of Samiri, 4-5 individuals. Very high. And very scattered. Pay no attention to us. Remain absolutely silent. There don't seem to be any squirrells with this group either. Are squirrels attracted only to large and/or very compact groups of Saimiri?

Most of this groups drift eventually. But a single adult individual remains behind feeding. Stays for 10-15 minutes. Must be at least several hundred yard, if not more, from its nearest companion. But it never utters any "lost calls"!!! (Once, it utters 3 rather low pitched "Tsit" notes and one Brrrp; but these probably were provoked by a passing bicyclist.)

Then, gradually, more and more Saimiri drift in. Presumably rest of large group (see also below). Both more active and less scattered now. Catching insects. Occasionally utter one more more "Tsit"s, "Tsit" - MOB's, brief L Trill's, "Tseet"s etc. Apparently all directed to us. No trace of Mobbing. Obviously not greatly excited.
