intervals. Settles down remarkably fast. Begins eating banana within an hour of being installed in temporary cage.

Gave one sound when being handled which appeared to be Agg S. Then remarkably quiet.

Becomes excited only when I wave my hand very close to my cage. Sometimes utters MGB's. Single notes or irregular series. Sound exactly like those of adults (although probably softer). More often he remains silent, but bites his perch, or towel, or the bars of his cage. Obviously redirection! Obviously quite aggressive - in spite of all the things that have happened to him today!

NOTE: This sequence of events is quite good evidence that the MGB's contain an appreciable attack component.

COMMENT: This animal hasn't uttered anything like a Lost Call at any time. Does this species lack a Lost Call simply because individuals always are close together?

Then we start for home, back across the peninsula, ca 5:15 pm. In pouring rain. I carry the little captive in my hands, in an improvised cage. When we pass through a patch of coastal forest, we apparently disturb a band of Saimiri. We can't see them in the rain. But they must have seen us and begun to vocalize. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear the initial vocalizations because of the rain. But I presume that they were primarily or completely hostile, QM and/or MGB and/or L Trll's. In any case, the little captive suddenly begins to vocalize madly. Moderately long, loud Whistles, which might be transcribed as "Wheeeeeeeet" or "Seeeeeeet." Not
