Going to work in small patch forest near town this morning.

Altitude of town is ca. 690 ft.

Weather is overcast. Almost no wind.

Start work 6:10 am. Forest here looks not unlike Barbascal in some respects. Very quiet now.

6:19 am. Region of very mixed vegetation. Scattered tall trees, low scrub, tangles vines. Come across first group of tamarins. At least 6 individuals. Of which, 3 were only half grown. All animals moving 20-30 ft up. Young definitely bringing up rear.

These animals are ordinary "white faced." Black heads with white muzzles. Rear 2-3'rds of body brindled black and yellow. Also outer surface upper hind limbs. Terminal 4-5th's of tail black. Rest of body, including upper back and shoulders, and underparts largely or completely rufous. Probably fuscicollis?

TR usually accompanied by Tail forward. But at
