Also some Gobbling phrases. All sounds very much like Barbascal. Then catch glimpse 2 animals. Only 15 ft up! Unfortunately, they shut up and run away immediately. So I can't identify species or subspecies.
 
When we first approach Callicebus, hear lots of tamarin in vocalizations nearby. See at least 2 inds. Apparently fuscicollis. Not in scrub. In larger trees nearby. 30ft above ground. Uttering lots of Trills and LSN's.  Then calm down a little. Start to utter Whistles as well. These Whistles are often uttered in 3-4-note series. But not plaintive. Almost certainly not "LW." Presumably hostile. 

  Certainly most of this vocalizing was released, and directed toward, us, after we appeared. But it is possible that the tamarins were "attracted" by the Callicebus Songs. And they may even, conceivably, have begun to vocalize in response to these Songs (!?)

  NOTE: We make several more attempts to see Callicebus But scrub is really impenetrable!

  Guide says that there is only one pair of Callicebus here With very large range. Very large area of scrub. But animals also move into edge high forest at least occasionally. 

  From what I saw of the 2 individuals, they could have been the more reddish type of moloch. Guide's description might confirm this. But it is not impossible that they are torquatus.
