out 30 ft high.

3) 9:45 am. Another patch tall forest. Apparently mature, but has been disturbed by some cutting: Come across another pair of Sakis. 50-60 ft up tall trees. Inds. about 40 ft apart. See us before we see them. Move away, not very rapidly. At first uttering Rattles and Rattles-ending-in-muffled grunts. Then, when further away, also utter single Grunts and Roars. Roars are not very loud. But very "hoarse."

This series would suggest that Roars and Grunts contain less escape than "Rattles."

I am not absolutely sure that the patterns I have been calling Rattles today are quite the same as those I called Rattles on BCI. Perhaps all or most of the "Rattles" heard today are "Low Trills"? Or are "Low Trills" and "Rattles" the same thing? Or is there complete intergradation Rattle --> Low Trill --> High Trill?

10:02. Now animals are quite far away. And uttering fewer sounds. Mostly "Rattles" So "Rattles" probably cannot be nearly pure alarm or escape patterns.

  Also some rather varied Roars.

Roars of species do seem to be quite variable about all the time. Either that or there are several different types of Roar-like displays.

4) 10:20 am. Some distance further along. High forest. Old second growth. Like laboratory side BCI. See group of 3 Sakis. 2 close together. 1 about 60 ft away. One of the 2 close together may be sub-adult. All 60-80 ft up in large
