Or at least the same species seen here before. And certainly in group. At least 3 inds. Possibly 5. All quite close together, 15-25 ft up.

These stereotyped series of whistles certainly must be strictly homologous with ritualized LW of Pinche! Even more closely related than "ordinary" Whistles of the species. I shall call them "LW" too (while continuing to call the others just plan "Whistles"). But the LW of fusucollis can not be a "lost call." Presumably purely hostile. (This more or less supports my comments in the Saguinus paper. Altho it introduces complications.)

The tamarins react very strongly when they see us. Real "Mobbing." And of very distinctive form. They immediately rushed downward (Rather squirrel-like.) At least 2 inds. came within 2-6 ft above ground. And uttered lots of LSN's and Trills. With SS, TR, and Tail-forwards. Also some Tip-coiling (again with TR). Again noticed that hairs of whole tail are raised, base as well as tip. Although tip hairs are longer than those of base. One individual, who was not vocalizing at the time, also performed complete Pull-rubbing Followed immediately by Sit-rubbing.

There probably were some Whistles and Short Whines intermingled with the Trills and LSN's. And also what sounded like rather slow and irregular Twitters. Semi-stereotyped series of Short Whines?

Certainly there were no LW's after the animals became aware of our presence.
