r edge forest, it seems likely that the species as a whole is rather less closely confined to edge habitats than the Pinche.

Come across same group of tamarins a few minutes later, ca. 9:25 am. Now right on edge forest tangles vines and lianas 15-30 ft up. Doing both squirrel-like horizontal leaping and Indris-like vertical jumping. Utter a few more SN's and Trills when they see us. With TR and Tip-coiling. Then move on again.

Group as a whole highly integrated. Inds. 5-20 ft apart Can't tell if there is a definite leader or not

7:40 am. Region very mixed forest. Come across tail end of Saimiri band. Can't tell how many individuals in group. Animals moving 30-50 ft up, thru all types of trees. Presumably not the same group seen two days ago. (We are in an entirely different area now.) Animals a little quieter than group seen before. But still vocalize a little. A whole burst of Whistles (I think before the animals become aware of our presence. Plus a few single MGB's, sneezing alarm notes, and "Tsit" notes which sound just like LSN's of Pinche's. Latter may be a reaction to us.

Animals moving very rapidly, making rapid forward progress. And all or most quite close together
A few minutes later and a few yards further on, see
group of at least 3 Cebus apella. All silent. Quite close together. 50-60 ft up. Apparently following Saimiri

NOTE: There was a big bird flying in forest near the apella. Apparently lage bird of prey. Probably black and white
