Didn't seem to be bothering monkeys at all. Which reminds me that I also saw large herd of prey near Saimiri - C. apella group 2 days ago. Black & white. White head with black patch thru eye. Probably same species Lehmann or Perdomo have stuffed.
Keep on walking for some time without seeing anything more. Finally leave forest 9:40 am.
Arrive back in Valparaiso after lunch. Go for walk in forest. First forest where I saw Sakis and Tamarins a week. Very hot and still. Obviously more rain coming Start walk 2:30 pm.
3:05 pm. Come across pair of Sakis. 35-50 ft up large trees. 75 ft apart. Presumably a pair that I have counted before. One individual sees us and vocalizes. Usual mixture variety of "Rattles", Roars, and Grunts, in various combinations. Didn't seem very excited on the whole. And didn't retreat for some minutes. I managed to record a considerable proportions of these sounds.
I also noticed one very interesting non-vocal pattern. Most of the time that the animal vocalized, it gripped branch with both hands and feet. But it always stood up on its feet each time it uttered a Roar. Presumably an Arch. (Altho, of course, curved back was invisible from below).
When it finally moved off, this individual showed no hesitation in leaping upon, and running along, a large palm frond.
CORRECTION: According to the guide, the individual Saki which was recorded was one of a group of 4. Two
