2:30 PM Walking along stream about 1/2 mile from vega. Stream is bordered by low dense scrub. Young growth. Rather big thorns and tough than the real swamp forest. Startle a troop of Saimiri. Animals 10-20 ft up! Probably a few individuals even lower. All run off immediately. One utters Trll which sounds exactly like Pinche! Presumably by very high intensity alarm. (The animal which uttered it was the nearest one to us.) Some other inds. utter single "MGB"s and singing alarm, notes.

The habitats of Saimiri and Callicebus must at least approach very closely here.

While we are watching Saimiri, we hear Callicebus singing in the vega trees. Full phrases

Then we move on to the vega ourselves. This is real swamp now. Partly flooded.

2:48 PM. Hear Gobbling phrases not far away. Then guide utters muffled, liquid sounding gulps. Answered by the titis. Series of equally muffled, liquid sounding gulps. (Muffled variant of Chirrups???) Followed, a few seconds later, by series of 5 or 6 Moans.

We try to sneak up on the animals without success. They just disappear silently.

It's my impression that this pair of Callicebus has a relatively enormous territory. Probably only one pair int this whole patch of vega. Approximately a mile long. Several hundred yards across in places. Lots of little lagoons scattered about. But most of these have trees in them. I.E. scrub continuous.
