faint single grunt-like notes. Perhaps best transcribed as "Yuk". All other inds. remained quite silent throughout. This seems to be a surprisingly "non-vocal" species. (The animals must have been aware of our presence, but they did not appear to be disturbed.)

We followed the group for about 20 minutes. I should call it "semi-coherent." Once during this period one ind. ate a considerable number of nuts in one tree. I did not see any other feeding.

In bright sunlight, individuals of this form look quite light brown above. But of course very dark when seen from below (I.E. Mike's observation of last June may have been correct.)

Group apparently quite alone. Certainly no other monkeys or squirrels around. When group was first seen there was a single (silent) large toucan in same tree. White face and bright breast. Bill comme ça:

This toucan certainly did not follow the monkeys when they moved on.
