Going to try to find Callicebus in the vega this morning. Start out 6:30 am. Cloudy, but it doesn't look like immediate rain. Finally reach vega itself 6:38 am. No sounds at all during approach. Is this an indicator that the tetes are not in breeding condition now?

7:00 am. Catch brief glimpse of titi, 20-25 ft up in one of the larger trees of the vega. Apparently single and alone. Unfortunately view is in silhouette, so I can't see colors. Animal moves off immediately. Quite silent.

A few minutes later, catch even briefer glimpse of what seems to be same animal, 15 ft up, in small tree in dense second growth forest on ridge 20 ft up above and behind vega. Again disappears immediately and quite silently.

Then hear what may be fuscicollis Whistles in same general area! I.E. there may be partial overlap between the 2 species.

Catch yet another glimpse of same animal same ridge 7:25 am 20 ft up. Again no color visible. Animal moves off rapidly To another ridge covered by similar low second growth forest.

Then rain comes down in buckets 7:30 am. Lasts until approx. 7:40.

7:55 Hear brief burst of the Song from original
