is quite spiny! I.E particularly dense.

We then proceed to hack our way thru every inch of the Barbascal-type forest. Undergrowth is incredibly thick. From about 7:00 am onward, we hear occasional single song in distance, apparently back in bamboo area.

7:55 am. Continuation of same type of forest. Aristides and son see single fuscicollis leaping from tree to tree. Then we hear 2 Callicebus singing repeatedly not far away. Long phrases. Chuck-Resonating-Pumping. (Territories of fuscicollis and titis must be at least adjoining here!).

So we plunge into the forest to look for the titis.

Pass the fuscicollis on the way. They utter the usual alarm notes. We don't pause to observe them. As it turns out (see below), the tamarins are approximately 200-300 yards away from the titis.

When we reach the titis, we find that they are ingaged in an obvious boundary dispute. Two or three pairs or family groups. Perhaps most probably two family groups of three individuals each. (If young are present, they must be nearly or completely full grown. I can't see any obvious size differences among individuals.)

Several individuals are uttering lots of "full" song phrases. Some are Chuck-Resonating-Pumping. Others seem to begin with series of rather undistinguished grunts. Followed by usual Resonating-Pumping.

Other individuals utter briefer songs. Usually
