"chiming in" late, apparently in "response" to full songs. There brief phrases consist of little or nothing but Pumping.

I presume that the inds. uttering full songs are adult males and that those uttering briefer phrases are adult females and/or young.

We also hear several series of pure Moans, quite apart from the (other) songs.

As we approach, we first supervise a group of 3 ids. I only see one myself, but guides say that two others went off in another direction. The one I see is 15 ft up in dense tangle. Falls to ground! Then escapes by leaping up into another tense tangle. Escape quite silent.

Rain comes down in buckets 8:15 am.

Despite continuous during rain. Songs and Moans as before. Apparently no actual, contact, fighting.

Finally I see at least three or four different ids. All definitely moloch. With black forehead bands. Brownish grey above, rufous below.

One individual sees us. Obviously "torn". Utters many Chuck Notes toward us. Also a few Resonating-Pumping series toward the other animals. All or most of the Resonating-Pumping accompanied by Arch and probably GR (but the latter is not conspicuous, due to the effects of rain on the fur).

None of the inds. uttered churrings at any time.

Animals gradually drift off ca. 9:00a.m. Probably going in different directions.
