torquatus in tangle 50 ft up in tree only a few dozen yards away. Again silent and disappears from view immediately.
F has never seen torquatus in groups larger than three or four. D.E. social structure must be like moloch.
NOTE: These torquatus apparently were eating the fleshy shells of the palm nuts. (F called this palm "Mil Pesos." There was a palm which was given the same name at La Deseo, but the species obviously is different here. The palm at La Deseo was supposed to be eaten by several kinds of monkeys. But not moloch.)
9:45 am. We are sitting by the palm in the hope that the titis will come back. An Araçari toucan shows up instead. Apparently alone. Then several more show up. A small flock. Possibly same species as in Panama. According to F, they eat the same palm nuts as torquatus. But they don't come to the tree now.
9:51 am. Catch one very good view of one of these monkeys. 50 ft up on bare horizontal branch. Definitely torquatus. Moves on almost immediately.
Just before it appeared we heard one loud Grunt. Almost certainly uttered by same individual.
Movements thru trees generally very quiet. But occasional crashes apparently caused by long leaps.
Shortly after the titi appears, there is an outburst of yelping by the Araçaris. But I can't tell if it is coincidental or not.
10:06. Hear a few miscellaneous Whistles and not
