84 very loud Sharp Notes (almost TW-like). Not very far away. According to F, there are Saguinus. He says that they also eat same palm nuts!!! Then hear more urgent sounding series of Whistles 4 or 5 notes in succession. Saguinus or bird? Then we hear a few undistinguished single Whistles. Then see branch moving in rather scrubby area. 10-20 ft up. Perhaps only single animal present. Moves off immediately. Silently. Perhaps disturbed by our presence. NOTE: This animal did not sound exactly like the fuscicollis in the Caquetá. Probably it never came nearer to the titis than 200 ft+- 10:25 a.m. Hear another single Grunt which may be by torquatus. (Forest in general is very quiet now.) Go on further without seeing more. NOTE: F says that the Saguinus are often seen on the edge of this patch of forest, where the forest [abects?] a field covered with short, coarse, grass. He also says that both Saguinus and Cebuella come down to the ground in such fields in order to catch grasshoppers. 11:25 a.m. Walking along path. Hear more Whistles from distant path of forest. Too far away to make out pattern. But F says that they are altered by tamarins. The tamarins here seem to Whistle a lot. 11:55 a.m. Region of mixed forest with quite a lot of tall trees. See group of 3 Sabes. Silent. Quite close together.
