in touch with the isolated individual, and vice versa, by means of the Sharp Notes, Trills, and Twitters. Only once, during this incident, did one individual utter one or two long Whistles.

These may well have been the individuals seen with the titi earlier this afternoon But I could see no titi with them now. (Not absolutely conclusive - the vegetation is so thick here.) There certainly were no jays nearby when I first encountered the tamarins this time. But the monkeys disappeared after approximately 5 minutes of "mobbing". And a pair of jays showed up 1 or 2 minutes later. Fortunately they did not discover me, and soon moved on.

NOTE: These jays certainly occur by themselves alone at times. At least when there are no monkeys around.
NOTE: The local fuscicollis seem to be surviving quite well here in the second growth even after the (surround rig [[?]]) mature forest has been removed.

Jays back again 3:25 pm. Apparently alone now.
Leaving this forest 3:50 pm. going up to forest behind Fuerbringer's House. Arrive top corner 4:07.
     Everything very quiet.
Leaving forest 5:25 pm. A storm is blowing up.
ADDITION: The local jay is moderately large. Pro bablz [[?]] a "Cyanocorax" type. Black on forehead, fore crown, sides of face, throat, and upper breast. Wings bright blue jail [[?]] blue or black. Light gray blue underparts. Nape and back of crown also light gray blue, lightest at border of black.
