Going to work in second growth woods across the road, between the road and the river, this morning. According to Alvaro, there are titis and tamarins here too. This patch of woods is not far from the woods where I started yesterday afternoon, but completely isolated from it.

Arrive 6:57 am. Sky is cloudy. Looks like rain. Everything quiet.

NOTE: I did not hear any titi Songs, from either wood, as I approached this morning.

This patch of woods is quite small. Probably 1/4 mile at its longest dimension. Ends in banana plantation.

I notice some rather large fig trees at the edge of the plantation. Is Ficus really an indication of second growth?

Sun trying to come out 8:30. Then I flush an agouti. So there are at least some animals around here.

9:05. I have just been talking to the owner of the plantation. He says that there at least tamarins here. And that they passed by not so long ago. So they definitely do inhabit this degraded habitat!

Rain starts 10:55 Stops ca 11:30. But I am stopping observations.

Going to try to see Pygmies in "hedge" above F's House this afternoon. Arrive 1:25 pm. Very hot, humid, and airless. Nothing stirring.
