instead. In any case, it appears that Cebuella occurs on this island. Presumably overlapping both Saguinus and Callimico, at least occasionally.
8:25 am. A few hundred yards further on, same type vegetation. See group tamarins 20-40 ft up in larger trees, guide says 5 inds. Get good glimpse of one. Definitely typical fuscicollis. Utters lots of LSN's and typicall [[typical]] Trlls. Tip coiling with TR. Some trace of irregular SS.
NOTE: The fuscicollis here seem to be doing a lot of horizontal running & leaping. Probably because the trees are too scattered to permit much vertical hopping.
12:30 pm. Region of very mixed forest. Thickest of bamboo, quite tall, with a few tall thin dicot. trees and lianas. Come across small group of Callimico (3? 5?). Identification definite. Guide catches infant!!!! Utters rather hoarse, relatively low pitches screams in the hand (while trying to bite).
Apparently these Callimico were alone, not with Saguinus fuscicollis (NOTE: One of the local inhabitants says that there is a band of Saimiri not too far away. But these particular Callimico certainly have not joined the Squirrel Monkeys!!).
Guide also says that Sakis occur in the taller patches of forest on this island.
NOTE: This infant has an injured leg. Drag s[[is?]]. Also missing one toe from foot of same leg. This, of course, is why it was caught!!!
