Dear Doris,

A nice day Lena is even sitting out on the steps and Pa and I have been out all the morning gardening. I have got some of my little cabbages on boiling for dinner they havnt headed up very well but I like them, they will go good with my corned beef that I cooked Saturday. Gertrude has just brought over some applies and pears (sickle)and says we can have more for the picking, but Pa has banged around enough for one day he thinks. our cold weather came down on us all of a sudden and froze everything. My jackets have occupied my time all this week. I suppose by this time your night dress has got there we sent it along Monday
