Sloughton Feb 26th 1922

Dear Doris
While my potatoes are on cooking for dinner I will sit down and write my letter. I have been busy all the forenoon. I have made an orange pudding for desert. Lena came out Friday night to spend her weeks' vacation. She is looking well and spoke of going in town tomorrow shopping.
I went to Brockton last Monday afternoon and got a nice rug for our sitting room. I also had my eyes tested for glasses and both came yesterday. The rug has all the good colors and I think you would like it, Lena does so you see it matches my draperies also the paper and Pa says its all right. I have got to have the floor painted around the outside, and front of the bay window, and then lay down the art square. I suppose you heard of Aunt Rebecca's death, she went very sudden and her funeral was in the Methodist Church Thursday. Three Methodist ministers officiated and while old man Beal was making the final prayer we
