Stoughton, February 21st 1932

Dear Doris

This morning it was 10° above again but it has grown warmer through the day. it will seem that this month is worse than all the rest but thank the Lord its most gone.

The sun is very pleasant as I sit writing my letter here in the sitting room. Pa has just come down from up stairs where he stays a good part of his time, as he feels safer + it is by himself if anyone comes. he does not want to see a soul now days. he is losing his power of speech to a great extent + his color is bad. he is in the butlery now eating I made a pudding which he likes (baked indian). he had a a wakeful night but has slept some this afternoon + so have I, as he was quiet so we both made our sleep up to a certain extent. 
The sun is clouding in a little going to be warmer. I have not been out for the last two days for its been too cold, but I may take a little walk before bedtime to night. We are having very bright moon light nights, the moon comes up early + lasts all night. I have not seen Ralph’s folks since the fire. they may show up to night. I would think
