Dear Doris

I have just written to Lena & to Alice & will get your letter written the night before as Pa is trouble_some mornings when I try to write.

It has been a stormy day the snow in the early morning turned to rain. & it will last over night.

Ella came up this afternoon. she had a chance to ride up with the Bennets & so came. I thought she had grown old looking this winter, she feels pretty lonely. her home is broken up.

I read Mollies letter but it did not explain much where she was, or who the old woman was, or how she came to be with her.

Pa was pretty cross about my going down town this morning but I had to go & did & left onions cooking on top of the stove & fish baking in the oven & found things all right when I reached home.

I fell down coming home on the ice but no harm was done I did not break my milk
