Dear Doris

The weather has changed. to night it’s warmer the sun has shone all day & it was not freezing this afternoon. I have had company Georgie Perkins, she went from here down to see Hattie Ripley, who is sick & needy she told me that Morris had been interceding in her behalf. he is a nice man & I hope the Universalist people will know enough to keep him as long as he will stay.

I have been sewing & doing housework most of the time to day. I wanted to go out this afternoon it seemed so pleasant, but as the stores were closed this afternoon decided to wait untill tomorrow, as there were a number of things I needed. I got some oysters of Jack, but had no milk to make a stew to day, so will have to wait to have it tomorrow 

By the way George said that Jack had got a house keeper, he thought. hope she will stay whoever she is.

I called up Maude & asked her the cause of the fire, she says they thought it was caused by her electrick [[electric]] iron, but she did not know that she left it on, but I guess she must
