Candlemas day it snowed all day. I went down town early to get a few things &  the air was full of the chill of snow. I met several people Talbot among them who said he was coming up soon as the weather was decent then I met Pete McGarvey in the First National, he said he was coming if Pa was so he could see folks & I said come early, he said he would come at his noon hour. but I would rather he did not come, for I am afraid that he will get it into his crazy nut that he is going to carry him away. he is pretty suspicious & one has to go slow & hide a lot from him. he is a care now & dont forget it. he raises cain over every meal I cook & dont want so much, for I am the crazyest [[craziest]] person he ever saw. I have to make him eat things & take his Oil. he had a good clearing out to night after I gave him an injection & I made him take it in the store room on the cabinet chair but he swore that he wouldnt take any oil to night but I shall have him just the same. obstinacy was always a part of his
