Dear Doris
This has been a very rainy day + it has grown warm since morning. I went downtown after some groceries before it started to rain. Pa was scart [[scared]] to see me go but lived through it. Downtown I met Hattie Gardner who inquired after Pa. she said her father was the same he was tirrible contrary & hard to manage, set & bound to have his way. She said she missed Aunt Rebecca, for she was the one who kept the family together & spoke of her living for others all her life.

Pa has been taking oil & Fig Syrup & Spinnage and bran muffins all day, we have had fish chowder three days in succession and still nothing seems to operate but before he goes to bed to night I shall give him another dose of oil. I set out to get him some figs to day but did not have any room in my bag. tomorrow will be the time when he will have a movement I think. he is terrible nervous & foolish when I give him an injection. its really a circus and terrible aggrevating but suppose he cant help it.
