Dear Doris

My fingers are tired working on the rug so for a change I will begin my letter tonight.

To day I went down to Maudes to get the rags so I could finish up his rug. She gave me two pairs of Henrys pants & some dark green felt which will be quite enough to make it large enough.

It has been a beautiful warm sunny day so I worked out of doors, carrying away the ashes that had accumulated out by the back door. The heavy rains of the last few days had taken the frost out of it & I put it down on the side walk on Seaver St. in the grass to com[[cut off]] you may remember that your Old Mother [[cut off]] years old helped to make the side walk.
