Stoughton Dec 6th 1931

Dear Doris.

This is a sunny but cold day. the thermometer was 12° above 0 easily this morning. It grew cold all day & in the night I got up & put on an extra quilt & we had two stones at our feet. the heat came on & kept us warm & it was good & warm when we got up at six in the morning. I had Pa change his flannels when he first got up so to save any further controversity [[controversy]]. the front room was good & comfortable & I had them all warmed on the radiator so he could not have any further trouble as its a job to get clothes off of him. it looks such a job to him these days. say nothing about giving him a bath. he is thin as a herrin. he goes around searching for "bug bears" one of his favorite hobbies. this morning early he began to go down cellar three times in succession, at last he had me go down with him. he had found some thing. the bricks were giving out in the chimney they had stood for forty years & now were giving out he was going down again & I told him as sure as he did
