Jersey. It is therefore, imperative that we have two smart people on the telephone -- one at the Bendix New Jersey Airport and one at the Administration Building of the Floyd Bennett Airport and the individual on the telephone at Bendix, will transmit to Floyd Bennett immediately, the official arrival time at Bendix, New Jersey of all the contestants.

The New York Aviation editors and syndicate editors can then plant their stories from Floyd Bennett with the accurate time of the individual finishes at Bendix Airport.

Obviously, it will be necessary for the West Coast Contest Committee to telegraph from the West Coast the offical depature time of each contestant. We will see that this information is sent to New York to Floyd Bennett Field as well as to the Cleveland Race Stadium.

If this arrangement is not entirely clear, would suggest that we exchange communication immediately concerning this detailed arrangement.

Because of the sponsorship of the Bendix Aviation Corporation, we are extremely anxious to have all New York wire stories of the finish carry the Transcontinental record attempts as from Union Air Terminal, Los Angeles, to Bendix Airport, Bendix, New Jersey.

We are extremely hopeful that the surface runways at Bendix Airport will be improved at an early date. Bendix Airport holds peculiar advantages to New York Cirty proper because of the new bridge as well as the several population centers in this area of New Jersey. The Closed Circuit Air Race Course in this particular area would be extremely safe. Therefore, it is not beyond the realm of possibility for the National Air Races or possible International Air Races being held at this airport at some time in the future. Certainly, the millions of resident population within a few miles of the Bendix Airport would assume the success of such an enterprise.

I trust that your personal plans will include attendance at the Cleveland Races for at least one or two days.

Kindest personal regards.

Yours sincerely
