The Cleveland News

OFFICE OF VICE PRESIDENT
AND GENERAL MANAGER

September 7, 1939

Mr. Vincent Bendix
President
Bendix Aviation Corporation
New York City

Dear Mr. Bendix -

During the recent National Air Races in Cleveland, millions of eyes were turned skyward, watching in awe and admiration Man's supremacy of the air.

The Cleveland News, mindful of the importance of aviation - not only to Cleveland but to the entire nation - believed that a special section devoted to the industry would do much to create greater understanding, interest, and acceptance among all citizens.

The attached section is the result - a labor of study and care in an endeavor to provide important information concerning the National Air Races, a record of aviation's progress and objectives, and an appreciation of the United States' supremacy in commercial and military flying.

We believe that the publication of a section such as this is not only a contribution of significant importance to aviation, but also brings into sharper focus Cleveland's outstanding importance in aviations's progress. Do you have any comments?

Very truly yours,

C McCahill
