To the winner of the race goes to coveted possession of the famous original bronze trophy, for the period of one year, and the permanent possession of a replica of same in gold; to the pilot in 2nd place a replica in silver, and to the pilot in 3rd place a replica in bronze.

In addition a gold purse of $27,500.00 to be distributed as follows:

1. Winner of race, Los Angeles to Cleveland ---------- $9000.00
