Stoughton July 11th 
Dear Doris, 
Wel this is another very pleasant Sunday morning. I have just got the washing out on the line, it will be warm again to day it is another damp foggy morning but the sun is out bright and hot, Pa started up to the Cemetery before the heat of the day, We forgot to mention receiving your check, as it came in the middle of the week. Monday morning we had a telephone call from Frank Edwards wanting to know if we would like to go to ride with them and Pa said yes so about ten o'clock they drove up to take us we went by the state farm, Wareham, to Onset, where we took our dinner, which consisted of clam chowder for the first course, then turkey with dressing, cucumbers and tomatoes and cranberry sauce, pie and strawberry ice cream, which was all good we ate all we wanted and didn't make pigs of our selves Edwards was bound to pay for the dinner in spite of anything Pa could say so we were obliged to let him, then, we continued our ride and took in Buzzards bay, Plimouth [[Plymouth]], Duxbury, and got home about four o'clock, he and his wife and daughter
