Dear Doris
A very pleasant warm day I have just washed out a few things and got them on the line and while waiting for my tablecloth to boil, so to Get out the stains, I will write a few lines to you. I have picked my ripe tomatoes and after giving away to the neighbors, find I have a pail full left.
Mrs Griffin last night gave me a large piece of sponge cake and she said a good half a cup of water so you see that is where I made the mistake. Effie starts for a visit down to Baltimore to see Edna Friday she makes two changes on the route, NY and Springfield.
Lena is still here, is talking of going into Boston for a day or two Monday. I shall be glad to see the last of her, she is too Schoolmarmy and needs above all to be in a home by her self. the least little thing puts her out of sorts and makes life unbearable for others. she isnt a bit well but that gets on ones nerves. to have one mumping around all the live long time. so you see we all have our trails I have to stay right here in it all the time I used to go over to abbies and so get out of it.
