We had two little new arrivals on our street this week. Mike Dykemans and Cararas (the Italians below us) Edith says that she dont believe Katie Steeles husband is straight American none of her folks appeared at the wedding & she went back in the forenoon but there was no man with her. I think that you are stretching out your rations in an unusual manner. Now Alice is putting out hers the other way. Myrtie says, to the party for soft drinks she had ginger ale, with logan berries, and Pa says they are the most expensive berries, on the market today. She asked Myrtie how she liked the ginger ale. & Mr Hobbes didnt have any she & her father were out in the kitchen & it seems Alice turned out two glasses one for each and Horace drank both of them. Myrtie says that she hopes she wont live to be such a nuisance that her father is, she may for she is the most like him all self and thinks a good deal of what she eats.

Dear Doris

Well this has been a rainy day and is still raining to night Pa came home this noon wet through to his hide, but wore back his rubber boots. The snow is disapearing some today, but is leaving the ice, so that most of people wear creepers. Pa took his down to night, to wear when he comes home. We had a long letter from Lena this week, and dont expect her out this time. That was a nice letter that Miss Scott wrote you. we enjoyed reading it, Dr Shorer has not gone yet, I called up Mrs Blake last night & she said that she was still there. By the way Myrtie and Maud struck up a great friendship while she was up to her mothers, she went back to Norwood yesterday, there is not enough going on over there to suit Myrtie, and dont think that she will stay there much longer, she thinks of going up home again soon. Alice gave a party while she was here. Marion Summers sent for her mother to come out where she lives, as she is not well, so Georgie expects to have to go and leave Alice and the man boarder behind, to get along the best they can, Alice has just had a thousand dollars left her. Wallace Pierce son of S S Pierce, he died and left lots of bequests,
