I was talking with one of the state men yesterday and he thinks that I have not had the technical work in either sewing or cooking that would qualify me for a teacher of those subjects especially as a director of a home-making school - funny isn’t it when I have been teaching them in what is supposed to be their most representative trade school in the country? But I think I shall marshall my evidence and take a course in directorship. He says the business way would be to stay where I am until such an opening as I want comes my way, and in the meantime put out my lines in many directions. If I knew it would be a short stay I might endure it but I have no assurance. Yesterday and to-day are hot and muggy and I suppose are even worse where you are. You have my sympathy. The male gypsies are flying in every direction everywhere now and yet there are plenty of caterpillars left. I am glad that you find your pongee skirt useful. Have you wanted any of the things you left here? Tell Sid I think he is the prince of forgeterers. Best wishes to you both Lena Now that the appropriations bill has gone through I suppose you will dock the fears for awhile. What are these beetles in the letter? Are they elm beetles? I found them in something else - low plant.
