PS Mrs Harrington is coming to see us on business this afternoon so perhaps this letter he will take down to the office otherwise you wont get it as early but I have to watch my chances. so far I have been likely if it as far from the house. 

Stoughton June 6th 1986

Dear Folks, 

Now we are having a cool spell with no rain so I have to water my plants outside to keep them from drying up night & morning. N England dries up during the summer all we get is occasional showers but even they go around now. I was stitching on the machine yesterday after noon when Mary Finch came to call, she came to Stoughton Memorial Day with Ella Smith & had been up to Minnie Lowes ever since she said all of her rooms were let so she went over to the next house, which was Mary Pierces to sleep. ("Major Dornas" as the school class used to call her.) I had forgotten that she still lived I rememembered about her breaking her hip. Mary said she got over that & she is 86 years old. a pretty well preserved old woman I should judge. Mary went from here down to see Lilly Dutton. she seems to enjoy life and aside from her stooped shoulders is not showing her old age very much. I guess she has a plenty to carry on with so dont need to worry & has a son to carry her around where ever she should wish to go.  & best of all her health. so why
