Doris Holmes Blake - Correspondence with Lucy Wentworth Holmes, January - June 1936

About the Project

Doris Holmes Blake's correspondence with her mother, Lucy, covers every aspect of her mother's life in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Much of it is family business, reports on daily chores and projects, updates about health and relationships, and the sort of quotidian observations that one would expect in family letters. Lucy's missives also contain much about her friends and neighbors, showing the strong community that exists in Stoughton, of people who are invested in each other's welfare.
