Dear Folks.

This is a warm day with no air stirring. up above 80 with every indication of a thunder shower. I am here alone she went to movies, a new picture she had never seen, Nellie went with her. Nellie is old & tries to keep in with the younger set, so out of pity they are trying to be good to her so they invite her out to go to things. Careta has her up to her house, for a week at a time, she is not well & has fainting spells, a poor heart. she will go in one of them very suddenly. probably. plenty of money & the family will welcome the end. Patten is Caretas brother & a larver, he is married & has three children & another on the way. he has recently bought the Harrington estate. up dry pond way, as near as I can find out through what they say, Little Henry has put through the deal, thanks to Careta, & made a five hundred dollar profit & sold Pattens house to a minister up there over the railroad as you go to dry pond, on that high street where we used to find berries. beside the road. I guess he has a lucky streak & hope he keeps sober. he may make his way in life. hope for his family's sake he does. the bank is undecided as yet as to treasurer the Paine girl does not want the responsibility. if it had'nt [[hadn't]] been for her, Ralph would have not been able to
