Dear Folks,

A good sunny day with a cold wind blowing. it might be far worse. not warm enough to remain out long at a time or to sit on the door step without wraps. Maude dont know what she is going to do after having the salary up to the first of June. it seems queer she has got to worry over money. he earned good money all their married life too bad they never thought of growing old some time. I dont think she would ever be happy living with Henrys wife. I think also it will be hard for her to go away & break up his home. Its always so with everyday. life is funny, we never are prepared for a change but it has to be with all of us sooner or later. this life is just to prepair [[prepare]] us for the next which we know not much about. but when most of us have grown old & all our relatives & friends have gone before, what is there to stay or live, for no one wants old folks around. Irma called me up last night. She said Ethel & Margaret went out to Worcester a few Sundays ago they were treated rather cooly they thought, so didnt stay long, Helen didnt go with them. I wonder how that family hitch, they never did get along very well. I never hear from Mame these days, guess she does not get far from home. suppose she must be in very bad condition by now. she is always cheerful naturally.
