Dear Folks

I am here alone & will write a few lines to say I have this morning received your letter & postcard. was glad to know that you were all no worse off. we have had cool weather & snow but the rain has brought everything along in great shape. our bushes are leaving out forsythias in bloom spice bushes full of leaves & buds. I have got the leaves away from the yard some there is a law against bonfires without a permit, so I had to drag away the leaves in a bedtick into the pasture. it was more work, but took it easy a little at a time. Lena has had to give up her job. she was here a week ago & was looking well. Saturday the two widows from Taunton came over to see Mrs Barry. Eldon lived in the house with them, & from there moved back to Stought. they were very fond of her but not of Mamie Kate. they came over here once before, they had a new Buick car & took us to ride & then they took us over to their house in Taunton.
