out in the cold very much. she is tiresome so much persistant talk about things we are not interested in. Ralph would like to hear from Sidney I think. he is there alone & cannot get out & his own folks sort of appeal to him. he spoke of his mother in a wistful tone. I think he seems to be losing grounds. he grows to look like his father. he brought over those pictures I left in the car when I came home they are of the family Maude took down to her cottage of us all & the baby in my lap. they are all good. we never know when we are having our lucky moments. so we must rejoice while we can.

Mrs Barry is going down Wednesday to her cousins & Mr Marshall is to give them Holy communion. he asked her today if she would like to. she said yes. he always inquires for me, so does she, (his wife). they are good people I guess he gives up all his salary back to the church. our box where we put out meal to the birds was full of little sparrows, getting something to eat. I guess the birds are having hard picking. the ground has been covered with deep snow so many weeks. I dare not step out on account of the ice. I would like to tie suet on the trees but the snow is deep & I could not get out to them. the darn dogs get everything we throw out & the squirrels they climb up & drive the birds away. well the sun is getting down lower & it is five O'clock. I must stop & get my supper no knowing what time they will return they were going to Taunton. so I hope you are well & having better weather.
