Stoughton Jan 23rd" 1936

Dear Folks

Two very sunny days & the next snow we are to have tomorrow, so the weather report says. everything is covered & I have ordered coal & told them to bring it in from the back way, as its impossible to get into the door yard, its so piled up with paths & breaking out of the road. I dont know when we have had so much at one time. the icicles are hanging from the roof in great profusion. darn snow storms. Mrs Barry was invited up to dinner to Caretas along with Laura Gebheart & Nellie Standish, & brought home a great piece (most a pound) of steak for our dinner. an inch thick. she is very generous. she said she had enough left for her dinner. Old Mrs Marden furnishes her with things but even so, she likes to give Barry things. she thinks she is very nice. Nellie called her up last night & said she was alone as usual & was afraid. her folks are awful hateful to her & wish she were dead. they will come home at midnight & find her so sometime, or I lose my guess. Mamie Kate has been dreadful sick since Xmas. she did too much gadding around to social times, she wants
