Stoughton January 19th 1936

Dear Folks

I woke this morning in the midst of a severe snow storm, with a foot of snow on the ground & coming down thick & fast, but very dry, it began the afternoon before cold & wind to the North West. its been at it all day. its sleet now & of gale force. I hope it lets up before morning. an awful storm, no paths yet have been started. I dont know when we have experienced such a severe time. Today I called up Maude to find out how they were. Ralph was in the hospital three days. his eyes are bothering him they told him it was due to high blood pressure & Ewing said his constipation might help to make him worse. he cant read & his hearing is affecting him. it makes him nervous so she says. they say he needs a rest. she is no better & thinks they are having it tough & tight. I feel sorry for both they are good to me. but feel they will have to slow up on their eating. & that is not what they want to do. about quarter of seven my little man who mows our lawn, has just been up to see if he can have the job of shoveling my paths for me. I promised it to him when he was here the other Saturday to know if there was
