Stoughton July 4th 1948

Dear Doris.

A very sunny warm fourth, I hope it grows warmer. For the last few days it has been nice temperature, neither too warm or too cold, with comfortable nights.

The Ballantines are having lots of trouble over to the Aunts, they are anything but happy. their mother has been changed over to the rest room. here its costing them $56. a week. Tom their son doesn't give them a cent. they are terribly out of conceit with Miss Seriack the aunt, they want something to happen to her & talk terribly about her to everyone that goes there.

This is a good day to go to the beach. I dare say you will be there for a good swim. Mrs Barry is not going to church today. she is washing out some clothes. we have bought some watermelon to celebrate the day. I am looking forward to eating it and hope its good & ripe.

The Pupellos are going to church there are going to get our Sunday Post when they get their paper.
Maude didnt sum natural as usual when Mrs Barry went over to the hospital yesterday. I guess the nurse made her feel sensitive about daubing the clothes she had on. she said she couldnt help it. I dont think a nurses job
