Robt Beals writes Willie Tilden is living with Chester Drake who is some relative of his, and I guess he is in correspondence with him. Is Chester Drake some of Jason beal Drake's family? Rob asked how old the Jed Beals place - the big one he lived in - is, and I wrote that I thought it was about 100 years old. Do you know whether it was built before our old place?
Here come the bed clothes! Sid has them warming on the furnace. He means to keep as warm as possible tonight in this frigid old house. He wants to listen to Gildersleeve now, so I must stop writing and mend a hole in his pants' pocket and then get to bed. 
I enclose a clipping that appears in our paper. Fuel oil is exceedingly "tight" all along the east coast, so keep as much in reserve as you can and go easy on it, depending on your coal for keeping the house comfortable downstairs. We have a break in gas [[strikethrough]] furnaces [[/strikethrough]] pipes near here, and can use only 1 burner, and I fear Helen with her gas furnace may be pretty chilly - will have to call her up and find out.
