Stoughton January 3rd 1948

Dear Doris This is good weather to stay at home right by the warm fire. 34° outside & everything covered white with snow. we no more dig a path than it gets filled up. January is usually a hard time to get through. yesterday it rained & snowed & the wind blew a gale all day & night. we are expecting the oil man to come & fill up our tank. no knowing how long the snowy icy weather may last, so its well to be prepared for it. We filled up our house with food Pupello came twice. the worst of him, he always forgets to fill up our order. so we have to look sharp at what he brings us the first time. I was pleased to read of Miss Cuttings letter to you she must be along in years by this time does young Doris remember her? I hope when Doris gets back to Cambridge, she will be warm. put on more clothes. the young people now a days go most necked it seems to me. I am sending down a letter that came in the mail for you today I am glad you can get out to places without
