Dear Doris  Its a rainy day but no snow although snow was prophesied. your letter came last night so I am answering it today & sending back the others they certainly were an honor to you. 

She gave her party yesterday & they all had a very good time & stayed till dark. they made me presents. these I wasnt expecting. four came all very nice & ladylike. Mrs Barry gives me a warm drink just before I am going to bed ginger & milk, so I go right to sleep, it aids digestion. we have these sudden changes in weather I dont wonder you folks get sick I hope Doris now is better, of her ailment. & you didnt  take it. I think of you & Sid these cold days in your cold house
